Supplementary Material: The Diffractive Achromatull Spectrum Computational Imaging with Diffractive Optics

چکیده
As has been discussed in main text, we use a designed initial guess derived from a mixture of a series of Fresnel lenses’ profiles for different wavelengths. Without loss of generality, we take an amplitude-type Fresnel zone-plate (FZP) as the instance for principle illustration. Leveraging scalar diffraction theory, the complex amplitude of a point at the image plane is the sum-up of all complex amplitudes derived from all sub-waves emitted from ring-zones of a FZP. To obtain constructive interference at the image plane, the zones should switch from the opaque to transparent at radius

The Diffractive Achromatull Spectrum Computational Imaging with Diffractive Optics
Diffractive optical elements (DOEs) have recently drawn great attention in computational imaging because they can drastically reduce the size and weight of imaging devices compared to their refractive counterparts. However, the inherent strong dispersion is a tremendous obstacle that limits the use of DOEs in full spectrum imaging, causing unacceptable loss of color fidelity in the images. In p...
متن کاملEncoded diffractive optics for full-spectrum computational imaging
Diffractive optical elements can be realized as ultra-thin plates that offer significantly reduced footprint and weight compared to refractive elements. However, such elements introduce severe chromatic aberrations and are not variable, unless used in combination with other elements in a larger, reconfigurable optical system. We introduce numerically optimized encoded phase masks in which diffe...

The diffractive multifocal IOL provides simultaneous bifocal imaging by utilizing both diffractive and refractive optics. In both distant and near vision, there is a clear highly focused image on the retina. The second image is highly defocused, providing only faint background illumination. A small amount of the light goes to the higher orders of diffraction which are not perceptible by eyes. T...

متن کاملFocal Sweep Imaging with Multi-focal Diffractive Optics
Depth-dependent defocus results in a limited depth-offield in consumer-level cameras. Computational imaging provides alternative solutions to resolve all-in-focus images with the assistance of designed optics and algorithms. In this work, we extend the concept of focal sweep from refractive optics to diffractive optics, where we fuse multiple focal powers onto one single element. In contrast to...
